OutShine is a free interview coaching tool provided by Be The Transformational Change Fund ("BTTC"), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Newark, Delaware. By accessing or using OutShine, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the tool.
OutShine is an AI-powered practice tool designed to help users prepare for job interviews. It is not a substitute for professional career counseling, legal advice, mental health services, or employment services. BTTC makes no guarantees regarding interview outcomes, employment offers, or hiring decisions. Results will vary by individual.
OutShine may identify interview questions that could be inappropriate or potentially illegal under federal, state, or local employment discrimination laws. This information is provided for educational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. Laws vary by jurisdiction. If you believe you have experienced employment discrimination, please consult a qualified employment attorney or contact the EEOC at eeoc.gov or 1-800-669-4000.
OutShine does not create user accounts, does not store your answers or feedback, and does not collect personally identifiable information. Your practice responses are transmitted to Anthropic, a third-party AI service provider, solely for generating coaching feedback and are not retained by BTTC. BTTC does not sell, share, rent, or monetize any user data in any form.
Anthropic's own privacy policy and terms of service govern their independent handling of data transmitted through their API. BTTC is not responsible for Anthropic's data practices. Review Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
OutShine does not collect personal information as defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Because no personal data is collected, stored, or sold, CCPA rights regarding data access, deletion, and opt-out are not applicable. California residents with questions may contact us at info@bethetransformationalchange.org.
OutShine is not directed at children under the age of 13. BTTC does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this tool. OutShine is intended for users age 18 and older.
All feedback, scores, example answers, coaching suggestions, and safety notes are generated by artificial intelligence. AI responses may occasionally contain errors or suggestions that do not apply to your specific situation. Use your own judgment when applying any advice provided through OutShine.
BTTC makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content provided through OutShine. Employment laws, workplace policies, and legal protections vary significantly by state, city, and employer.
You are solely responsible for how you use OutShine's coaching in actual interview settings or any other context. BTTC is not liable for any consequences resulting from actions you take based on OutShine's feedback.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BTTC, its officers, directors, employees, board members, and volunteers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of OutShine. This includes damages related to employment decisions, lost income, lost opportunity, emotional distress, or reliance on AI-generated content. Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain damages, so these limitations may not apply to you in full.
OutShine, including its name, logo, design, content, questions, and underlying structure, is the property of Be The Transformational Change Fund. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from OutShine or its content without prior written permission from BTTC.

OutShine may reference or link to third-party websites or services. BTTC is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party sites. Inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by BTTC.
BTTC does not guarantee uninterrupted access to OutShine. The tool may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, third-party service outages including Anthropic's API, or circumstances beyond BTTC's reasonable control. BTTC shall not be liable for any interruption or unavailability of the service.
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of OutShine shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Before initiating any legal action, you agree to contact BTTC in writing at info@bethetransformationalchange.org and allow no less than 30 days for informal resolution. BTTC reserves the right to require binding arbitration for disputes under $10,000 in accordance with the American Arbitration Association's consumer arbitration rules.
BTTC reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted within OutShine with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of OutShine after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and BTTC regarding OutShine and supersede any prior agreements relating to the subject matter herein.
